Die Eishockey Weltmeisterschaft Div. III Gruppe A wird vom 14.-17. April in Luxemburg Kockelscheuer gespielt werden.

Nachdem der griechische Eissportverband vor wenigen Tagen die Organisation der Weltmeisterschaft aus finanziellen Gründen absagen musste, erklärte sich der luxemburgische Verband spontan bereit die Organisation der WM zu übernehmen.

Die Div. III wird dieses Jahr in zwei getrennten Gruppen gespielt :

Div. III Gruppe A auf Kockelscheuer mit  Irland, Griechenland, United Arabean Emirates (UAE) und Luxemburg

Div. III Gruppe B in Yerevan Armenien mit Mongolei, Süd Afrika, DPR Korea und Armenien

Die jeweiligen Sieger beider Gruppen steigen in die Div. II auf.

The IIHF announced on February 5 that the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division III Group A will be relocated from Athens, Greece, to Luxembourg.

The Hellenic Ice Sports Federation informed that they will not be able to host the tournament in Athens by the last deadline on January 31 after problems with government funding.

Subject to the participation of the four involved teams – Luxembourg, Greece, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates – the tournament will take place in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg, April 14-17 with minimal changes in the previous schedule.

The final schedule will be announced at a later date.
