A burdened encounter which started with a big bang by Team Turkey. Emrah Ozmen made it a 0-1 game after only 1.33. Then penalties hampered the Turkish squad. First Greece had a one man advantage powerplay and when both Emrah Ozmen and Onur Eroglu were sent to the penalty box for hooking by referee Peter Haxell it was five skaters against three. However Greece did not tally. But with Greek forward Georgios Kalyvas in the sin bin for hooking Turkey showed how to do it. Defenseman Deniz Ince, 0-2 at 10.17. Shortly followed (10.43) by an even strength goal by Mustafa Yapicilar for 0-3.

After the restart Greek Athanasios Kesidis  did manage to score with a two men advantage, 1-3 after 21.16. A Turkish double pack in the 30th minute of play upped the score to 1-5.  To finish off the scoring in the middle stanza Emrah Ozmen scored a shorthander at 34.27, 1-6.

In the final period Erdogan Coskun hit the net twice. First with a shorthanded goal (45.52) and later with an equal strength goal ( 47.49). Egemen Tasboga hit the net at 48.57 for the final score, 1-9 Turkey. But the on ice action was not finished yet. At 55.59 Greek defender Nikolaos Papadopoulos was entangled altercation. He dropped his glove to take on a Turkish player. For this feat he got a double minor for roughing and a 10 minute misconduct penalty. Turkisch players Onur Eroglu and Emrah Ozmen both got a single roughing call.
