Luxembourg at the 2006 World Championship Division III

The 2005 Division III World Championship is played in Reykjavik, Iceland from April 24th until 29th, 2006. Participating countries are Armenia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Iceland and Turkey.

Again Head coach Hakan GRÖNLUND will guide the Luxembourg National team. Alain Schneider is his assitant. The team started it's campaign in January, with practices in Beaufort on mondays and in Dillingen (Germany) on wednesdays.

From the junior ranks Huskies (and Tornado) players François Schons, Serge Milano, Philippe Lepage, Yannick Back and Eric Wambach are selected for the team roster.

On Saturday evening March 11th, 2006 the National Team encountered the All Stars of the IHC Beaufort Tournament.

Brothers Joël Holtzem and Thierry Holtzem were unavailable because of university duties in resp. Germany and France. All together a major loss for the team. Before the start of the World Championship the FLHG named a 20-man squad. Beaufort's Kevin Krecke, Daniel Houdremont and Alain Breuskin and Tornado's Yannick Back debuted at this World Championship. Yves Barthels, after spending some time in Canada and not having played much hockey, rejoined the national squad.
