Yves Barthels (Dec. 12th, 2006): "Over the past two months, the Huskies Espoir squad has developed into a cohesive team that has put its terrible start into the season behind itself and is making slow but steady progress. Although the results now are much better than the 3-15 and 3-12 defeats against the Dijon and Epinal teams respectively, the Huskies have still lost their last two games against Strasbourg (in Luxembourg) and against Epinal (last Sunday) with scores of 2-4 and 1-6 respectively whilst posting their first victory just before that against Belfort with a score of 9-3."

 Dec. 10th, 2006 - Epinal Dauphins Espoirs - Huskies Luxembourg Espoirs 6-1
Goal Huskies Luxembourg: Eric Wambach.
Penalties Luxembourg: 20 minutes - 1st period: Kevin Gronlund - 2 minutes for charging; 2nd period: Kevin Grönlund - 2 minutes for boarding, Kevin Grönlund - 2 minutes for tripping, Kevin Grönlund - 2 minutes for charging, Frank Schram - 2 minutes for charging, Bench penalty - 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct (coach Yves Barthels for protesting against referee decisions); 3rd period: Eric Wambach - 2 minutes for tripping, Eric Wambach - 10 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct, Markus Eriksson - 2 minutes for cross-checking.
Penalties Epinal: 10 minutes.

"Hyped by the good performances against Belfort and Strasbourg, practice attendance has almost been 100% over the last 3 weeks. With 3 practices a week, the squad is improving its skills and its game at a steady pace. The good team spirit transpires into high attendance for the games as well and the Huskies traveled to Epinal with 12 players and a goalie despite the absence of Yannick Back who sustained an knee injury in Saturday's Tornado game and Jeff Meyer who was out because of illness. And again, as against Strasbourg, the first period turned out to be the "game-killer" on the Huskies' road trip in Epinal. The usually high scoring, defensively strong first line of Steven Minden, Chris Ruud, Markus Eriksson, Etienne Billette and Kevin Gronlund appeared not to find their usual rhythm and the Huskies trailed 0-2 after just 10 minutes. Eric Wambach managed to reduce the score to 1-2, assisted by Misha Iampolski on a perfectly angled shot from the face-off point on a break-away, but Epinal beat goalie Gilles Mangen two more times on shots from the slot to end the first period 4-1. Playing catch-up becoming the Huskies' standard, the effort in the second period was much better, but the French referees seemed to disagree with the physical game the Huskies wanted to impose on their opponents. Kevin Gronlund ended up in the penalty box three times in a row before things got very heated and, whilst Kevin was already sitting out a 2 minutes charging call, Frank Schram charged a player that intentionally tackled goalie Gilles Mangen and got called (while the Epinal player was not penalized). Disagreement with the calls ended in an additional bench penalty so that the Huskies had to end the period in a 3-4 and then a 3-5 penalty killing situation. Epinal had already scored the 5-1 before that in an even-strength situation, but the Huskies never got a chance to get back into the game because of the debatable calls by the French referees. In the third period, the Huskies held Epinal again scoreless for a while, but when Eric Wambach got kicked out after an unfair 2 minute tripping call (he actually got tripped by the Epinal player) and a 10 minute misconduct for protesting, Epinal scored the 6-1 and the Huskies had to acknowledge defeat. Gilles Mangen ended the game with 59 saves on 65 shots for a 90.77% save percentage." - by Yves Barthels
 Nov. 26th, 2006 - Huskies Luxembourg Espoirs - CSG Strasbourg 2-4
Against Strasbourg, the Huskies trailed 0-4 after just 13 minutes. Goalie Gilles Mangen did not have to look behind himself again for the rest of the game, but, not being able to capitalize on their many good chances in the second period, the Huskies' 2-0 effort (1-4 scored by Steven Minden shorthanded and unassisted, 2-4 scored by Chris Ruud, assisted by Steven Minden and Markus Eriksson) of the final period turned out to be too little too late to turn around the game. Gilles Mangen made 51 saves on the 55 shots for a 92.73% save percentage, while his teammates had a 37-25 edge on face-offs won. It was a solid effort by the Huskies squad and a demonstration of will power and the unwillingness to give up, but Strasbourg managed to steal the 2 points.
