Bitter 14:1 loss for Tornado Luxembourg Last saturday Tornado Luxembourg had to swallow a bitter 14:1 loss in the Promotion Play Offs in the French Third Division. In order to face off against Toulon on the Côte d’Azur the team had to travel all across France to play their away match. To everybodies surprise Luxembourg dominated the first twenty minutes. Despite that playing on the powerplay and having pinned down the opponent in their own end Tornado coughed up two goals on vicious counters. Ben Houdremont put Tornado on the scoring board by tallying for 2-1, before Toulon managed to score a third goal before the first intermission. But after the first tea team Tornado collapsed. Heavy legs from the long journey and again many a penalty called against them led to a final score of 14-1. Certainly a score not reflecting the difference in strength of the teams. For the 600 spectators saw a good hockey game, but Tornado was unlucky with their shots on goal. After two away matches, In Strasbourg and Toulon, Tornado will return to the friendly confines of Kockescheuer Arena next Saturday to take on Epinal. Patrick Schon

Bittere 14:1 Niederlage von Tornado Luxemburg Am Samstag hat die Mannschaft von Tornado Luxemburg eine bittere 14:1 Niederlage im Rahmen der Play-Off Runde der 3. französischen Eishockeyliga in Toulon einstecken müssen. Die Mannschaft von Tornado musste quer durch Frankreich reisen um an der Côte d’Azur auswärts in Toulon anzutreten. Desto überraschender war es, dass Tornado Luxemburg das erste Drittel prägte. Dennoch mussten in diesem ersten Drittel, als Tornado jeweils in Überzahl spielte und sich im Drittel des Gegners etablierte, zwei Gegentreffer einkassiert werden. Ben Houdremont konnte noch auf 2:1 verkürzen bevor Toulon das 3:1 Drittelergebnis erzielte. Im zweiten und dritten Drittel brach die Tornado Mannschaft dann auseinander. Die schweren Beine der langen Anreise und erneut viele Strafminuten sorgten das 14:1 Endresultat. Der Endstand ist mit Sicherheit zu hoch ausgefallen, denn die fast 600 Zuschauer sahen eine gute Eishockeypartie, wo Tornado zu oft das nötige glück beim Torabschluss fehlte. Nach zwei Auswärtsspielen in Folge, in Strassburg und Toulon, kann Tornado am kommenden Samstag endlich wieder vor heimischem Publikum gegen Epinal antreten. Patrick Schon

Tornado flew to Nice with the 7.30 hours plane Saturday morning. Arrived in Nice after eigth o`clock. And travelled by bus in an hour to Toulon. For the evening encounter starting at 18.00 hours.
