TORNADO LUXEMBOURG, 2007-2008 - The Ex-Tornados

Joel Holtzem

After a few years with Maddogs Mannheim and becoming their captain Joel Holtzem felt the urge to move on. Despite being happy with the team. Because he felt he could not improve his play with that team he looked for another club to go ahaed. Also to be on top his game for the Luxembourg National team he choose to transfer to RSC Darmstadt Crocodiles of the Regionalliga Hessen (German Fourth Division). He had to proof himself in August in a couple of practice sessions and prepatory matches. Together with a Canadian he now fills the role of import player. At first the coach let him act as a defenseman, but now - more to his liking - he finds himself a member of the forward lines. Darmstadt has a very strong team. The practices are exhausting and the Russian coach does not allow mistakes. But Joel is content and he carries his favourite number 19 on his jersey.

Benny Welter

Benny Welter adds another season to his career with NRW Regionalliga team (German Fourth Division ) EHC Troisdorf Dynamite. Playing with number eleven he is now one of the clubs top goalgetters.

Philippe Lepage

After a season with ESC Trier of the NRW Regionalliga netminder Philippe Lepage transferred over the summer to Königsborner JEC Bulldogs in Unna Germany. Thus, staying in the NRW-Liga. Beside the club wanting him very much to join their ranks, the excellent contact with General Manager of GDI Europe Ltd. (Goaltender Development Institute) Benedikt Weichert Philippe was helped to find a job in his profession (Design and marketing). Also the the participation of the club in the DNL-II concept to develop young players for professional ice hockey and thereby many a oppurtunity to develop his skills was a major reason for Philippe to change sides.
