The D2 Season Begins: Tornado Welcomes Group Favorites Hogly

1st October 2026

The wait is over, and the Division 2 championship is finally here. This Saturday, October 3rd, Tornado Luxembourg opens its regular season campaign at Kockelscheuer with the ultimate benchmark test: hosting Hogly (La Roche-sur-Yon), the reigning champions of our group.

The Opponent: The Team to Beat
Hogly enters the 2026-2027 season exactly where they left off—as the absolute biggest challenge in the division. They dominated last year to take the top spot, and they are already proving their championship pedigree. Just last weekend, Hogly opened their Coupe de France campaign by securing a massive 3-2 home victory against Brest, another heavyweight favorite in our group.

Closing the Gap
For Tornado, this matchup is the perfect measuring stick. Last season, Hogly handed us a tough 6-2 loss on the road, but the return leg at Kockelscheuer was a completely different story. Tornado pushed the group leaders to the absolute limit in a nail-biting 3-4 loss, proving that on home ice, we can go toe-to-toe with the best.
The question heading into this Saturday is clear: Is Tornado ready to take the next step in Division 2?
After facing the blazing speed of Division 1 Strasbourg in the Cup last weekend, the boys have felt the intensity required at the highest level. The newcomers have settled in, the roster is deeper, and the team is hungry to prove they can consistently challenge the absolute top tier of D2.

Be the Sixth Player!
To pull off an opening-night upset and start the season with a massive statement, the team needs the Kockelscheuer crowd at maximum volume [Get your ticket here!].
