In front of an absolutely electric crowd of over 950 fans at the Kockelscheuer Cauldron, Tornado Luxembourg found their groove and delivered a massive 5-1 victory over Courbevoie! The win provides a much-needed boost and keeps Tornado in the playoff hunt.

A Tense Start, but a Rock-Solid Penalty Kill
The first period mirrored some of the struggles from recent weeks. Both teams traded penalties early, and the play was a bit tense as Tornado worked to find their offensive rhythm. The referees were quick with the whistle throughout the game, forcing Tornado's penalty kill unit to step up massively.
Despite spending significant time shorthanded, Tornado's defense and goaltending were flawless, refusing to concede a single power-play goal all night.

The Offense Wakes Up!
After a scoreless first period, the floodgates finally opened in the second. Jan Shikera (assisted by Rowan Miller and Lélian Vix) broke the deadlock to give Tornado the lead. Just over a minute later, David Church (assisted by Félix Sigouin) doubled the advantage. Before the period ended, Dmytro Danylenko finished off a play from Sigouin and Nolan Eriksson, sending Tornado into the second intermission with a commanding 3-0 lead.
The boys in the blue working dress kept their foot on the gas in the third. Julien Vogt scored an unassisted goal early in the frame, and Rowan Miller (assisted by Vogt and Eriksson) buried the fifth goal with less than three minutes remaining.

Goaltending Excellence
While the offense exploded, the story of the night was the fantastic performance in net. Tornado's goaltender was a brick wall for 59 minutes, turning away everything Courbevoie threw at him. Unfortunately, Courbevoie’s Jonah Marette managed to sneak one in with just 8 seconds left on the clock, spoiling the well-deserved shutout.

Head Coach Christer Eriksson was thrilled with the overall performance:
"We started with a first period quite similar to our recent games: a bit tense, struggling to convert our chances and find our offensive rhythm... From the second period onwards, we really rediscovered the offensive hockey we were playing a couple of weeks ago. We were also really solid on the penalty kill, not conceding a single goal despite spending quite a lot of time shorthanded. Overall, an excellent feeling, especially with over 950 spectators in the stands! Great atmosphere and a much-needed boost for the team!"

Crucial Matches Ahead
The victory keeps Tornado in 8th place in the tight Group A standings with 7 points.
Next up, Tornado travels to face Wasquehal, who currently sit just behind them in 9th place with 4 points. Wasquehal is coming off a brutal 16-6 defeat against Évry-Viry and will be desperate to bounce back on home ice.
Following the road trip, the boys return to Kockelscheuer on  21 March for a massive home game against 6th-place Châlons (8 points). Both of these upcoming games are absolutely crucial for the standings as the playoff race intensifies!

Let's keep this momentum rolling! Allez Tornado! 💙🤍❤️
